Please join us for a live broadcast from the International Student Career Services Roundtable event, hosted by the University of Maryland Smith School of Business. Thanks to the Smith School for sponsoring this broadcast!

A panel of immigration experts will discuss the potential implications of the new administration's immigration policies on international students hoping to remain and work in the US post-graduation.  Panelists will provide the latest information and analysis regarding the future of the H1-B visa program, as well as impacts on other visa programs such as OPT. 

Panel:

Kristin Faison is the Global Mobility and Immigration Consultant for AOL, Inc. and is responsible for managing all global mobility and immigration cases, from an HR business side.  Prior to joining AOL, Mrs. Faison worked for Fidelity Investments as a Senior Immigration Specialist and L-3 Communications in support of the Department of Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Student and Exchange Visitor Program. Mrs. Faison is PHR certified, received a master’s degree in Professional Studies from Towson University, a bachelor's degree in Sociology from George Mason University and most recently completed an Advanced Immigration Law Specialist Certificate program through City University of New York.

R. Blake Chisam is the Chief Audit and Privacy Officer at Fragomen, recognized as the world's largest law firm that focuses its practice solely on global immigration law.  Resident to the firm’s Washington, DC office, Blake’s practice focuses on risk management and compliance, along with government strategies.  Blake was previously senior counsel to the immigration subcommittee for the U.S. House Committee on the Judiciary, where he worked on policy and oversight issues related to employment-based immigration, international law, border security, immigration enforcement, refugee issues, naturalization and citizenship. Blake is a sought-after speaker and guest lecturer and has published many commentaries on immigration law including a book, Immigration Practice, which he co-authored. In 2000, he was awarded the Meritorious Public Service Award by former Attorney General Janet Reno.

Heather M. Stewart is NAFSA’s Counsel and Director of Immigration Policy.  NAFSA is the world's largest nonprofit association committed to international education and exchange, working to advance policies and practices that build global citizens with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed in today's interconnected world. Ms. Stewart received a JD from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law and a BA from Mercer University. She is a member of the DC Bar and the American Immigration Lawyers Association.

Justin Storch is the Manager of Agency Liaison for the Council for Global Immigration, the leading employer network dedicated to immigration.  He is responsible for working with federal immigration agencies to ensure employment-based immigration policies enable U.S. employers to build America's future workforce, grow the economy and create U.S. jobs.  Mr. Storch received his JD from American University, and also holds a master's degree in public affairs from the University of Wisconsin and a bachelor's degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
