3 Reasons why you should join our MBA CSEA conference in Rotterdam!

by: Jelda Veninga, Senior Career Consultant. TIAS School for Business and Society, and Co-Chair, 2018 European Conference

15 – 18 April 2018
MBA CSEA is the only global organization that brings together business school careers professionals and employers to discuss trends, network, and drive change in the industry! The most interesting activity of this organization is the European Conference, which this year will be held in our Dutch city of Culture & Architecture: Rotterdam! As a Dutch co-chair and volunteer of this conference, I would like to give you 3 good reasons why you should join this year!
  1. Trendy Topics! Our program committee worked hard to put together a great program for you. We will talk about Design Thinking: How can we design the customer (i.e. student/job candidate) experience to better reach our goals? Great speakers such as Paolo Lorenzoni and Matt Watkinson will do this. In addition to that, we will have interactive breakout sessions where topics will be discussed such as EU data protection, Compensation & Benefit trends, Design Thinking & Career Development and Engagement with Technology. There will be enough room for sharing best practices and learning from other business schools and employers. Moreover, we will have a great employer panel talking about e.g. video interviewing, sustainability and work ethics.
  1. Great PeopleNetworking & Fun. Every year, the European conference charm is the people! You just have to enter a conference room, and people will proactively start a conversation. They are open, have different cultural backgrounds, and are willing to share and as well during the informal activities they are great fun! I even can confirm this fact while working with a bunch of international volunteers. It's nice to have virtual online meetings  with this group where everyone has a different background on their webcam: from Snow in Stockholm to Spanish Sunshine! One common ground in these pictures: a boring office desk and smiling faces.
  1. Definitely Rotterdam! The last reason, but even so important, is the great location where the conference is taking place: the Nhow Hotel in Rotterdam. The view of the hotel is of the water and the modern skyline of Rotterdam - a skyline, which contains extraordinary buildings! If you join the conference, we will have a spectacular boat tour and a fantastic Sky High Gala Diner. And, Rocking Rotterdam is known for it's buzzing streets full of bars and restaurants, innovative buildings, plenty of museums, Europe's biggest port, a great Market Hall, and many crowd-funding initiatives by hipsters who want to reduce the foot print of Rotterdam. As a ‘Dutchy,' I am definitely proud of this modern city and looking forward welcomeing you all!
