Associate Director, Employer Relations, Graduate Career Services
The Position

We are seeking a successful, experienced professional who possesses both desire and initiative to broaden the base of recruiting relationships for our graduate student population. Equally important we feel there is an opportunity to build out the functional skill experience of the organization to reflect growing marketplace talent demand and as such are particularly interested in attracting applicants with prior functional work experience in any of the following roles: Product Management, Product Marketing, Digital Marketing, Corporate Finance, or Supply Chain Management. This individual will enthusiastically promote the broad array of career service support offerings to our employer partners. In addition, this individual joins a team of professionals who advise and coach students regarding career opportunities and job search strategies.
 

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Manages and expands corporate relationships with current and prospective recruiting partners
  • Communicates the value proposition of the various Marshall MBA and MS specialized masters graduate degree programs to employers and is familiar with the curriculum coursework, program admission requirements, and student population demographics
  • Consults and collaborates with employers in the development and implementation of strategic full-time and internship recruiting plans
  • Educates students about the various company business models, sector trends and future employment opportunities
  • Educates and coaches students on strategies to best present their value, skill set and unique differentiation to achieve a competitive advantage within the assigned industry sectors
  • Works with student organizations on career education and recruitment preparation activities, such as career panels, company visits, and alumni mentorships
  • Builds and maintains an active advocate alumni network of employed professionals who assist as subject matter experts, student mentors and advisors to the career services office
  • Maintains effective and frequent communication with students, faculty, and employer partners
  • Travels as necessary off campus to employer sites for business development meetings, on-site company visits with students, attendance at conferences, career education/skill-building, alumni and other professional association networking events.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree (MBA strongly preferred)
  • 6+ years’ full-time, progressive career path and management-level experience in Product Management, Product Marketing, Digital Marketing or Corporate Finance. or Supply Chain Management
  • Demonstrated competencies in account management, relationship, and business development
  • Outstanding, proactive communications skills with a variety of constituencies (i.e., students, career center colleagues, faculty, employer partners, and faculty)

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Business degree
  • Minimum Experience: 1 year
  • Minimum Field of Experience: Related education and experience in counseling and career services and advisement.
