Manager, Career Center Systems and Digital Analytics
The University Of Virginia Darden School Of Business, one of the world's leading business schools, seeks a Manager, Career Development Center (CDC), Systems and Digital Analytics. This individual is responsible for leading all activities in the CDC office related to data analytics, database management, and information systems in support of strategic data-driven decision-making. This critical role will carry out data and reporting projects for the Darden Career Development Center and work jointly with a new unit, Strategic Enterprise Data Analytics and Digital Innovation. The Strategic Enterprise Data Analytics and Digital Innovation team carries out analytics and provides strategic insights to Darden's senior leadership. This position reports to the Assistant Dean, Career Development Center and works closely with the Strategic Enterprise Data Analytics and Digital Innovation Department.
In collaboration with the Strategic Enterprise Data Analytics and Digital Innovation Department, the Manager will develop solutions to meet the needs of the Career Development Center, address issues/challenges and streamline processes by leveraging existing information systems and adoption of new technology based solutions.
This role will serve as the technical liaison to a wide range of external and internal stakeholders (career center advisors, employer relations team members, employers, Darden Corporate Relations, Enterprise Systems, GradLeaders, 12Twenty) and provide escalated technical support for students of all Darden degree formats. The Manager will also provide system training to new team members as well as ongoing training to current team member.

Drive strategy to align CDC technologies with business objectives
Own CDC data analytics strategy—identify, define and prioritize data analytics projects and deliverables
Collaborate with business stakeholders to analyze user requirements and document them in the form of BRD’s (business requirements document), FDD’s (Functional Design Document)
Contribute towards the enterprise data warehouse and analytics solution development
Create interactive dashboards, visualizations and enterprise reports leveraging Microsoft Power BI
Perform business analyst capabilities (e.g. source system analysis, source-to-target mapping, report wire-framing, requirements/user stories, and conceptual data modeling) in order to inform ETL and data architecture design
Develop Power BI data models and reports with compelling visual storytelling
Approve and/or define all data definitions in the CDC subject area for all data analytics deliverables
Provide leadership as the data steward for the CDC subject area in defining data, creating processes and procedures to monitor and enforce standards, maintaining the quality of the data
Establish and manage a process for Darden CDC business team to submit a help request for the CDC Systems team to prioritize and work through the queue
Manage data quality to ensure accurate analysis and reporting
Serve as the subject matter expert on MBA Career Services & Employer Alliance (CSEA) standards and ensure data is in compliance within established standards
Create process flows, presentations and reports to document recommendations and deliver them to the business stakeholders
Develop test plans, test cases, procedures, and documents given business requirements and design documents
Train CDC users on core career development systems and data analytics tools
Bachelor’s degree required with at least four years of experience. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Degree in Business, Computer Science, MIS, Computer Engineering or related discipline preferred.
Experience building reports, dashboard and visualizations in PowerBI or similar reporting tool.
Knowledge of relational and dimensional database structures, theories, principles and practices.
Expert solution delivery using Tableau, Qlik, Microsoft BI and/or Spotfire.
Highly self-motivated to deliver both independently and with strong team collaboration.
Strong written and oral communications along with presentation and interpersonal skills.
Strong skills in working with spreadsheets, presentation software, PowerPoint, Business Intelligence Reporting and visual analytic tools.
Preferred skills and experience:
Experience in Business Intelligence or Information Management, ideally within consulting environment.
Advanced knowledge of SQL, including ability to write stored procedures, triggers, analytic functions, and tuning.
Experience with Agile delivery methodology.
Familiarity with career management systems (12Twenty, GradLeaders or other).
Familiarity with the career management center operations, with on campus/on grounds recruiting practices, or with general recruiting/hiring practices.
