Graduate Business Career Development, Associate Director

Graduate Business Career Development is seeking a person who is passionate about career coaching and career development to work with our outstanding Executive MBA and Master of Finance students in Chicago and South Bend, Indiana. The Associate Director of Graduate Business Career Services for the EMBA and MSF Chicago programs will oversee career education and corporate relations functions. This includes coaching responsibilities for students in the Chicago and South Bend EMBA programs as well as the MSF program in Chicago. Coaching will focus on three areas: understanding the hiring landscape, developing a personal value proposition based on strengths and interests, and communicating value via resume, cover letter, interviewing, digital platforms, and networking.
This person will work closely with program and academic directors to develop curriculum, workshops, and networking events that support students who are in mid- to senior-level careers. Past events have included keynote presentations by business leaders followed by networking and alumni panel discussions across industries.
This role also includes the development and innovation of career curriculum related to ND’s Career Mastery Course, an online course that is supported by one-on-one coaching.
This role also includes corporate relations and alumni relations duties. This person will develop and maintain relationships with key employers in Chicago and beyond. This person will also serve as a conduit to alumni who can support students in career development and job opportunities.
This position could be based at our Chicago campus or our main South Bend campus and would require a presence in each location periodically.

Additional duties include:
- Coaching and mentoring: Provide assistance to students in groups and one-on-one; assist Career Development team in providing best in class assistance to MBA students. Oversee industry or functional areas of interest to MBA students.
- Lead key initiatives such as the annual Career Immersion Day which is a one day deep dive into career development and includes workshops, speakers, networking, and skill building.
- Work cross-functionally with the residential MBA program and other MS programs to ensure sharing of best practices and innovative ideas.
- Supervise daily implementation of work priorities across both student and employer events and programs. Assist Career Development team as needed on variety of projects.

Have a passion for and experience in coaching/mentoring students
Ten or more years of professional experience. Active in professional organizations, experience with diverse populations.
Ability to interact with corporate recruiters to facilitate the successful recruitment of students.
Excellent public speaking, interpersonal, verbal/written communication skills. This person must possess the ability to communicate as well as develop and maintain relationships with students from a wide variety of social, ethnic and economic backgrounds. In addition, the Associate Director will interact with employer representatives ranging from CEOs to new graduate business hires.
Excellent organizational and planning skills, including the ability to independently prioritize work, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, set goals and enforce deadlines, while maintaining the flexibility to reassess and prioritize goals.
Strong analytical skills and experience in working with survey tools like Qualtrics
Required to attend meetings and travel solo and with groups of students, at various locations both on and off campus. Also, will visit employers and alumni throughout the United States and possibly internationally.
Must be able to work with little direct supervision, perform under pressure, plan ahead by anticipating problems and forecasting outcomes, and deal with difficult individuals while maintaining composure.
Master’s degree in business administration, counseling, student personnel, higher education, or a Bachelor’s degree with relevant experience.
Understanding of theoretical knowledge of higher education issues such as student development, career counseling, and the unique needs of non-traditional and graduate students, or a broad understanding of careers typically pursued by graduate business students and an in-depth understanding of the college recruiting process
Experience in hiring mid to senior level executives
Ten to fifteen years of prior experience in graduate business career development, or a similar level of professional experience with recruiting or executive search, as well as supervisory experience.
Experience with on-campus recruiting software programs. Proficiency in statistical analysis. Proficiency in database management/development
