Provide high quality careers, employability, coaching and professional development advice and guidance to MBA students. Create and manage corporate relationships with external organisations in order to create insights and opportunities for MBA students.

Main duties and responsibilities Create, manage and develop new and existing relationships with targeted employers to encourage on campus events, networking opportunities and vacancies for students and manage corporate events (face to face and/or online):
Create opportunities for external organisations (e.g. companies, recruitment agencies, head hunters and associations) to engage with, share their company knowledge and / or sector knowledge, as well as their insight to benefit and aid the learning and career decision making of our MBA students, as well as recent graduates and alumni
Identify, build and develop relationships with both new and existing companies as well as alumni to persuade them to engage in recruitment and knowledge sharing activities / opportunities / Projects (this should be achieved via cold and warm calling, in addition to e-mails and mail shots to establish an initial relationship, as well as to maintain existing relationships)
Create opportunities for MBA students, as well as recent graduates and alumni to be hired in to jobs, internships and projects
Contribute and manage the sourcing of BMP projects and the BMP campaign
Organise and attend company visits / meetings with new and existing company contacts to build and develop these relationships across the UK, as well as internationally
Organise and attend regular evening company presentations with new and existing companies for MBA students, as well as for recent graduates and alumni
Cross sell the MSc proposition and service during each business development call and company visit / meetings
Manage the organisation of on campus and off campus (face-to-face or online) company presentations, including the advertisements about these events to MBA students, as well as to recent graduates and alumni. Advise companies of presentation content and one to one networking opportunities to students after the company presentation has been made
Attend additional Business School, Alumni and external networking events – both daytime and evening events. This should be to establish and develop new relationships with corporate contacts and alumni, as well as market and communicate the Business School’s Career offering and attendance. This may also include but is not limited to local and international conferences and career fairs
On occasion, filter applications on behalf of a company
Organise and manage logistics for employer presentations and skills workshops
Contribute ideas to and understand the MBA Corporate Relationship Strategy and undertake actions accordingly
Provide information, advice and guidance to help MBA students make realistic choices about employment opportunities face to face and/or virtually
Provide one-to-one information, advice and guidance about a range of issues, such as careers, employment and training
Develop and maintain relevant networks to ensure up to date labour market information, legislation, and professional and academic developments by visiting employers, training providers and training events run by educational and professional bodies
Compliment (where relevant) the external career coaching by providing MBA students with one-to-one advisory sessions throughout the year (including pre-meeting preparation and follow up). This will include but is not limited to CV and cover letter advice, as well as job search strategy, interview, LinkedIn, networking and industry specific advice and provides students with key career development skills
Manage the process of preparing CV’s (including content and formatting) for the FT MBA marketing campaign each year alongside colleagues
Link students in with alumni to help them with interview preparation (i.e. sourcing appropriate alumni and introducing them to students)
Identify on-line resources, books, websites, periodicals, networking forums and external websites that can be used by students
Collaborate with students to ensure they have a clear career plan and advise on which Careers Services they should engage with to achieve this plan
Run small group sessions or larger presentations/workshops on all aspects of careers work and topics related to professional development face to face and/or virtually
In conjunction with the Professional Development team, design and deliver Career Management Workshops for MBA students e.g. CV and cover letter skills, interview skills and job search strategy skills
Other Activities and Responsibilities (when and if required):
Contribute to the content of marketing collateral (both online and offline e.g. website, collateral such as brochures, e-shots, case studies, testimonials)
Undertake ad hoc projects for the team e.g. managing destination data collection and analysis, pre-study virtual learning environment, MBA Employment Report, CV Book, Talent book
Study for and undertake regular qualifications and training to ensure best practise and to be equipped with best tools and up to date knowledge
Provide regular feedback in report (written or oral) format for heads of departments as and when required for Careers and cross department projects
Attend graduation ceremonies, Careers Beers events, Alumni events and broader School events
Have occasional conversations with prospective students in relation to careers questions
Undertake ad hoc projects for the team that improve the service, e.g. working practices and processes
Attend conferences, seminars, training and networking events (International (potentially) and UK) throughout the year
Network with other school Career Services to compare service offering and share intelligence where beneficial
Stay on top of current recruitment trends / recent developments in the Careers, Coaching, Online delivery and recruitment world trends
Contribute to Internal / External Communications for the Careers team
Promote the Careers team’s achievements within the school and externally to raise profile and visibility of Career Team
Devise and implement the most effective ways to effectively communicate with students
Provide input into the overall Careers strategy
Assist the Senior Management Team in shaping the overall set of services provided by the Careers team and input into the overall strategy
Look for gaps in the current service and for ways to improve existing services

• Has held a role within an MBA or postgraduate Business School Careers Team working with experienced candidates (3 years plus experience)
• Business Development experience; developing new relationships leading organisations (preferably HR/Recruitment) and experience of account management; managing external relationships.
• Experience of CV and application screening for a diverse range of organisations; designing and delivering interviews and assessment centres.
• Experience of one-to-one career advice and working with career changers (career coaching qualification preferable) at a mid-career to senior level.
• Previous experience in designing and delivering job search workshops (such as career planning/ self-assessment, CVs, Assessment Centres).
• Previous experience in recruitment MBA Students.
Skills and Abilities
• Knowledge of global recruitment practices and processes within key MBA recruitment sectors e.g. Consulting, Technology and Financial Services, and has the skills and experience to deliver mock interviews and to provide accurate feedback to mid-senior career level individuals.
• Excellent communication skills (oral and written) with experience of giving presentations to audiences (at times large).
• Has held an Internal Recruitment role such as Recruitment Advisor/Manager or equivalent with involvement in recruitment campaigns (preferably global).
