Assistant Director/Manager, Data and Business Intelligence - MBA Career Center

Founded in 1957, Georgetown McDonough is home to some 1,400 undergraduates1,000 MBA students, and 1,200 professional students and participants in our executive degree and custom programs.

The Assistant Director/Manager, Data and Business Intelligence - reporting to the MBA Career Center’s Associate Director/Senior Manager of Strategic Operations - is responsible for the administration of MBA Career Center knowledge systems, data, training and user support in duties that include but are not limited to:

  • Manages the mission-critical collection, organization, analysis, management, and reporting of MBA Career Center data - ensuring that common system, data, and documentation standards are adhered to and data integrity is upheld 
  • Provides regular updates on key student career engagement and success metrics
  • Administers the annual MBA Career Services and Employer Alliance (CSEA) official employment data reporting on behalf of the McDonough School of Business
  • Ensures that data management practices are logical, streamlined, and user-friendly
  • Develops, customizes, tests and maintains primary internal data platforms, including McDonough CareerView and Excel based data
  • Bridges to other internal business units to exchange and share data records, sometimes navigating multiple and incongruent data sources and storage methods, which requires an integrative mindset
  • Contributes to effective data stewardship and knowledge development at the McDonough School of Business (MSB) and University as a whole
  • Manages external technology relationships and platforms; manages vendor relationships and the configuration of auxiliary resources, including all interoperability concerns; and assists with vendor contracts
  • Develops methods to optimize the use of information assets; and analyzes data and makes recommendations regarding its strategic and operational application
  • Trains and supports all users on the systems

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Business, or other discipline that engendered an understanding of technology systems
  • 2 to 4 years of experience managing data, maintaining third-party vendor systems, supporting system users, and producing critical reports
  • Strong knowledge of Excel and customizable databases
  • Complex analytical skills, professionalism, detail orientation, accurate, thorough and logical

Preferred requirements

  • Statistical modeling experience
  • Salesforce.com Certified Developer
