Director of Full-Time MBA Career Services

The Director will 1) provide innovative, strategic leadership and comprehensive services to drive positive career outcomes for all Cox Full-time (FT) MBA Programs and MBA Direct; 2) lead and develop the FTMBA coaching team and contractors, cultivating employer relationships and actively supporting ongoing strategic planning; 3) cultivate a culture of continuous improvement by identifying and integrating best practices; benchmarking services against peer and aspirant institutions; 4) introduce creative approaches & solutions to the design and delivery of programs and services; 5) serve on FTMBA admissions committee, supporting acquisition of top-tier applicants; 6) serve on CMC Leadership Team (LT) with Senior Assistant Dean, Senior Director of BBA/MS Career Programs, Director of WPMBA Career Programs & Director of Employer Relations & Operations.
Perform other duties as assigned by Senior Assistant Dean.
Essential Functions
Career Coaching/Training: deliver customized consultation to a diverse population of students (e.g., early-career business, military, non-profit). Assess each student's unique needs and develop a tailored plan to support desired outcomes (e.g., pivot, growth within company). Track progress / deliverables and oversee successful end-to-end engagement.
Staff Leadership and Management: provide strategic direction, task assignment, performance management, and guidance to staff and contractors. Collaborate with CMC LT to shape strategy of department and formulate tactics to drive execution of strategy through FTMBA coaching team. Ensure alignment of coaching, tracking, and instruction within team and collaboration with other CMC teams.
External Relations/Employer Outreach: Performs outreach functions with students, faculty, staff, alumni & employers to drive career-related activities that support the overall strategy for FTMBA; represent the CMC in external events (e.g. conferences) for professional development & department visibility; Serve as lead career consultant for FTMBA student clubs/organizations.
Program Management: Serve as owner of all career-related aspects of FTMBA programs. Collaborate with Deans & Directors to craft strategy, marketing, and execution for the FTMBA suite of programs and ensure that we deliver on the career components of the Cox brand-promise.
Teaching/Facilitating: Provide instruction and direct staff to provide instruction for FTMBA Career Programs. Plan curriculum, prepare & deliver meaningful / current content, assess & evaluate student learning outcomes/performance, and issue grades for students in course. Engage employers/alumni in career course to gain current & relevant job function needs.
FTMBA Admissions - serve as a member of the FTMBA Admissions committee, supporting the recruitment of new students.  Conduct interviews of prospective candidates, focusing on career-related components of application process and assessing candidates' likelihood of successful post-MBA career placement. Support yield activities.
Data Collection / Reporting / Analysis: Lead the data collection and reporting for all FTMBA programs for student outcomes, appointments, and student feedback. Provide scheduled reporting for rankings publications (e.g., US News) and ad-hoc data requests from CMC / Cox leadership. Ensure outcome data complies with MBA Career Services Employer Alliance (MBA CSEA) standards.
Requires some evening and weekend work for career-related events; coaching students in all FTMBA programs.
Requires some travel to conferences, workshops and/or employer visits.

Education and Experience:
Master's degree in business or related field in required.
A minimum of seven years of professional work experience is required. Prior MBA career coaching experience and/or corporate experience in a functional or recruiting capacity is also required.
Experience conducting case interview preparation is preferred. Experience coaching international students is desirable.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Candidate must demonstrate strong verbal and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. Must also demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively in writing. Strong presentation skills with the ability to present clear and accurate information to small and large groups are required.
Candidate must possess strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and analyze problems, as well as devise solutions.  A strong business acumen and the ability to discuss business terminology from a consulting and finance perspective are essential.
Candidate must have strong organizational, planning and time management skills. Must also be a self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Candidate must have a working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) internet and email communication systems. A working knowledge of social media tools is preferred. Experience using career services software (e.g. Handshake) is desirable.
