Communications and Project Manager

Under the general supervision of the MBA Career Education Manager of the Parker Career Management Center ("Parker CMC"), the Communications and Project Manager ("communications manager") serves the communications and project management needs of Parker CMC and in turn, the students in UCLA Anderson's full-time MBA program. Parker CMC provides career services for UCLA Anderson's FTMBA students (approximately 700 students), which include a 2-quarter career course ("Parker Career Series"), one-on-one advising with a professional staff, the Anderson Career Teams (ACT) program, ongoing job search skills workshops, and other career development programs. Additionally, the Parker CMC conducts the Campus Recruiting Program, which oversees employer relationships and recruiting activities to facilitate their hiring needs. Parker currently consists of a team of 14 employees.

The communications and project manager will have two major responsibilities:
First - Manage all aspects of Parker's communications strategy and execution for its various internal and external stakeholder, including creating and implementing the overall strategy, brainstorming content ideas, executing the day-to-day communications, facilitating various communications tools, and managing Parker's internal and external websites and social media presence and content directed to current students, recruiters, alumni, and prospective students. The communications manager writes and edits the weekly career management newsletter and reminders to students, including those related to the Anderson Career Teams (ACT) program, Orientation and any communications targeting internal and external constituencies, including students, faculty and staff, alumni and corporate partners. This person will also brainstorm and develop content ideas that will promote Parker's activities around students' successes in their career development. The role also serves as the webmaster for its external website (for marketing purposes) as well as editor-in-chief of the Parker Career Management E-Book and oversee annual updates to the internal portal containing the vast amount of content and resources around MBA career development. This role also assists on the design and publishing of various marketing and information documents targeting various stakeholders. The communication manager collaborates with UCLA Anderson Marketing and Communications department for any school-wide communications initiatives that are relevant to Parker's programs and activities.
Second ? Collaborate closely with MBA Career Education Manager on the execution of the Parker Career Series course during summer and fall quarters. The project manager updates and finalizes lecture presentations, keeps attendance, schedules rooms, co-ordinates exercises and practicum, and oversees the pipeline of course deliverables, ensuring the quality of feedback and student records, as well as communicates with the rest of the Parker team. The Parker Career Series course management system/website is also managed and updated by the project manager; as the course continues to shift to an asynchronous model, this role will support the process and logistics of the content creation and management. The project manager supports the MBA Career Education manager in hiring, training, and managing 7-10 teaching assistants for the Parker Career Series Course. The project manager works closely with advising staff to oversee the scheduling logistics and promotions/ publicity for all career workshops and programs around various facets of the career search process, including the Interview Insider Sessions. During winter and spring quarters, the communications manager partners with the MBA Career Education Manager in reviewing and updating the Parker Career Series based on student surveys, recruiter feedback, market trends and pedagogical best practices.

Able to create reports, presentations, spreadsheets.
14. Experience in website design, content creation and management.
15. Superior customer service skills and positive attitude. Exhibit strong level of energy and enthusiasm.
16. B.A. or B.S. degree and extensive experience in program management, operations, or marketing and communications; or equivalent experience/training.
17. Knowledge of MBA marketplace and UCLA Anderson programs, procedures and policies for MBA students to be able to communicate information to recruiters and prospective students.
18. Previous career services experience desirable.
19. Previous experience in student/peer coaching desirable.
20. Ability to work occasionally on weekends or in the evenings.
