Associate Director of Data Management and Operations
  • Develop a comprehensive data management strategy to enhance the efficiency of career and alumni related resources, profiles and ranking reports.
  • Conduct data analysis end-to-end (collection, scrubbing, theming, visualization); fluency in data visualization software and spreadsheets recommended (Tableau, Qualtrics, Excel, Google Sheets, etc.)
  • Develop and maintain a reporting mechanism for graduate employment surveys & statistics, internships and employment outcomes.  
  • Prioritize and extract data from a variety of sources to maintain its accuracy and completeness; determine additional data collection and reporting requirements.
  • Design and customize reports based upon data available in frequently used databases/systems: Handshake, Qualtrics, Tableau
  • Oversee and monitor regulatory compliance for utilization of the data in ranking and accreditation submissions: US News, AACSB, MBA CSEA, etc.
  • Create complex charts and databases, perform statistical analyses, and develop graphs and tables for internal and external publication and presentation; present data analysis findings and results to internal and external stakeholders of the USF Graduate School of Management clearly and cohesively
  • Support Graduate Career Services with employer and alumni research for employment data purposes as well as marketing
  • Oversee online career portals (Canvas & Handshake):
 Strategy – School of Management:
  • Work in collaboration with SOM leadership staff to provide data outcomes for external purposes
  • Analyze existing SOM student demographics for purposes of determining how to address career preparation and placement given the variances in industry and experience levels.
  • Creation and evaluation of effective career management strategies to meet student needs and maximize employment outcomes and external visibility
  • Assist with a career/alumni data plan that encompasses best practices and raises the visibility of the department to a level of competitive advantage for the USF School of Management.
  • Assist with a SOM branding strategy that highlights and differentiates USF’s strengths, leverages the unique attributes of Bay Area businesses and offers an identity that alumni and current students can both benefit from and build upon.  The goal of increasing positive employment outcomes can best be achieved with a strategy that aligns targeted recruitment, effective programming and strong employer relations.

Requirements The successful candidate will have three to five years of experience in data management at an academic institution preferred. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to evaluate data, assess alternatives and make appropriate decisions and recommendations.
Experience in project and/or database management. Ability to understand and work with large and complex data sets.  Database experience (Salesforce) a plus
Experience with MS Office and analytical programs.  Excellent writing and analytical skills.  Ability to prioritize workload.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse group of students, faculty, staff, alumni and the general community. Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to demonstrate tact, diplomacy and maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Outstanding presentation skills enabling effective, influential communication with the target audience. Motivated to work independently but able to thrive in and contribute in a team-oriented environment. Professional demeanor that establishes credibility quickly, inspires confidence and positive relationships.
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree and three -five years of relevant experience or combination of education and relevant experience.
