The Senior Director/Supervisor of Career Coaching is located at the Rady School of Management Career Management Center focusing on the needs of graduate business students.

The Senior Director - Career Coaching, under the supervision of the Executive Director of the Rady Career Management Center, applies advanced professional career development concepts, conducts strategic needs assessments of gaps in the career program, and plans and develops new career services The focus of this senior level career services professional is on career coaching and programming to promote career development skills and employment opportunities for Rady School of Management graduate business students.
The Senior Director researches new ideas for career programming and career related events, plans, and develops customized career programming for a sophisticated graduate business school population, participates in strategy sessions with the Executive Director of the Career Management Center, and uses analysis skills and career coaching expertise to organize, deliver, and promote participation in career development programming and coaching.
This position provides overall supervision of Rady career professionals delivering top-notch career coaching and is an active participant in career coaching activities collaborating with academic program directors and the Rady School Career Management Center employment engagement team. This position uses research, planning, and management skills to promote programming that allows graduate business students to identify, research, evaluate and network with prospective employers and industries, suitable to the Rady graduate business student's educational background and professional aspirations.
This position promotes skills and techniques for Rady students seeking out employment opportunities within key industries, as well as with top domestic/international employers. The position leads the initiative to promote student participation in career programming and career related skills. The position collaborates with UCSD's main campus career coaches, Rady academic/executive directors of individual Rady degree programs, and others to efficiently provide career programming.
The Senior Director supervises a team of 4 Career Coaching professionals, creating an effective teamwork environment, promoting team info sharing and promoting an atmosphere of participation, collaboration, inclusion. The Senior Director solicits and recognizes staff contributions to problem-solving and process improvements, arranges and provides onboarding and training of new staff, approves time off requests & timecards. This position uses seasoned expertise to advise staff on approaches to students with unique needs, aspirations, priorities or expectation and serves as escalation point for staff on difficult issues related to career coaching issues.

Must have access to reliable transportation to travel to regional job fairs, employer site visits. Must be able to do rare travel out of the region, rarely internationally.
Occasional evenings may be required for panel discussions, presentations, networking events. This position is exempt and is not eligible for overtime
