Manager, Multimedia Design in the Career Management Center

Position Summary

Reporting to the Assistant Dean and working with the Senior Associate Dean and other teams in the Career Management Center as needed, the Manager will be responsible for developing and expanding, in consultation with the Assistant Dean, multimedia content and strategy. The Manager will work with the Assistant Dean and Sr. Associate Director on a range of communications design projects and will work with other stakeholders including students, recruiters, and staff in capturing and producing content and developing communications. This individual will also collaborate with the Associate Director of the Career Management Studio on digital media content strategy for the Career Management Center.  
 

Responsibilities

  1. Contributes to multimedia development strategy, including content idea generation, production planning, and execution of web based, video, audio, and other digital content that supports all student populations. Collaborates with Associate Director of Career Management Studio to share best practices and ensure consistency with overall CMC multimedia production. Also works with Multimedia Group (MMG), Information Technology Group (ITG), and other colleagues to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to multimedia resources.
     
  2. Works with the Assistant Dean to develop and enhance digital career content via the Canvas platform and other distribution channels. Contributes to development of user design/user experience specifications for this content.
     
  3. Serves as point of contact for execution of communications design work across the department. Collaborates with Senior Associate Dean and Directors on design, development, and project management of a range of presentation materials. This includes designing PowerPoint slide decks for career workshops and presentations to key stakeholders inside and outside the School.
     
  4. Works with the Assistant Dean and the Sr. Associate Director on various design projects.  This includes designing email templates, newsletters, modifying look and design of the CMC and Recruiter’s websites, and updating annual Employment Report, Recruiter’s Guide, and ACE Book collateral.

 

  1. Recommends acquisition of appropriate multimedia hardware and software, in consultation with the Assistant Dean and Sr. Associate Director, and ITG, including identification and selection of appropriate vendors for support services (webinar technology, teleconference, web analytics, etc.)
     
  2. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent related experience required. Minimum 2-4 years related experience required.

Facility with communications and multimedia production technology and software applications HTML, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Dreamweaver, Adobe Connect, Final Cut Suite) is essential. Excellent PowerPoint and communications design skills also essential. Familiarity with Canvas and other learning management systems important. Strong film production (planning, capture, and editing) skills is helpful. Ability to quickly adapt to shifting priorities and to manage time efficiently while working on and leading multiple projects at once. Solid office skills including strong computing skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Access) necessary. Comfort with utilizing project management tools to track project status/progress is critical. Strong professional demeanor and tact with a customer service orientation. Must be able to manage difficult situations with firmness and diplomacy.  Strong written and oral communication skills imperative. Must be flexible to work occasional early mornings and evenings, as needed.


Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in communications, graphic design, and media production preferred. Experience in curriculum design helpful. Minimum 1-2 years related digital media production experience strongly preferred. Interest in education and educational design is helpful.
