This position will support the Technology Management MBA (TMMBA) and Hybrid MBA programs at the UW Foster School off Business and plays a pivotal role in developing strategies and initiatives, specifically counseling and advising TMMBA and Hybrid MBA students on their MBA and post-MBA options, individual plans, and goals. Program management and event management are a key part of the responsibilities. The position reports to the Director of Career Management and will collaborate with TMMBA/Hybrid staff and other MBA offices.

The TMMBA program is 18 months long, with classes on weeknights and Saturdays. Students have spent an average of 10 years in the workforce by the time they participate in the program.

The 2-year Hybrid MBA program is Foster’s mostly online MBA, designed for working professionals. Most of the student experience takes place online through synchronous and asynchronous learning. At the start of each quarter, students attend 4–5-day immersive sessions on the Seattle campus. The class of 2023 has 84 students with 9.9 average years of work experience. They work in 15 industries and 67 companies and live in 19 states.

Students are early-career to senior-level individual contributors and people managers in different functional areas. They have diverse backgrounds and MBA goals such as shifting functions, advancing internally or founding a business. Therefore, the position requires high-level skills in advising MBA students, group facilitation, workshop design & presentation, and written & verbal communications. Critical thinking and resourcefulness are needed and an understanding of the employment market to suggest custom strategies and tactics that help students achieve their goals.



• Develop, organize, and conduct personalized one-on-one coaching and consulting for TMMBA, Hybrid MBA, and eventually Global Executive MBA students (2023). Coach across a broad range of topics such as professional presence, strengths assessment, culture preferences, personal brand, career transition, and job search strategies.
• Design and deliver new small group coaching opportunities to expand the current offerings:
      o Career group for military service members from the TMMBA, HMBA, and EMBA programs
      o Job Search Work Teams
      o Career Change Groups
      o Personal Branding Program

Program and Event Management

• Manage needs analysis, develop quarterly event schedules, and conduct career development events (face-to-face and virtual). This will support the Career Management team delivery of 60 events each year, including skill-building workshops, presentations by guest speakers, MBA alumni panels, and networking events.
• Manage all components of various events including promotion, registration, event follow-up, and outcome data and recommendations.
• Manage and source new relevant career content that students can access on demand.
• Recruit guest speakers and MBA alumni when necessary.

Communications and Data Reporting

• Research and author content for use in coaching and online courses.
• Collaborate with team to collect and aggregate feedback (e.g., online surveys, focus groups) on services/programs and centralize data collection and analysis to enhance Career Management.
• Interact regularly and collaboratively with students, alumni, faculty, staff, vendors, recruiters, and senior corporate leaders.
• Stay current on best practices and build relationships with colleagues at international and national business schools.


• Develop familiarity with and recommend innovations and improvements for offerings, processes, and content.

Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or similar, plus a minimum of three years of professional experience that includes program/event management and coaching and/or consulting responsibilities with graduate students who are working professionals.

Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.

Additional Requirements
• Experience with presenting in front of large and small groups.
• Knowledge of the experienced professional employment market.
• Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and critical thinking skills and demonstrated attention to detail.
• Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
• Commitment to exceptional service to students and alumni with the ability to work independently and in a team setting.
• Ability to 1) attend part of 4- or 5-day Hybrid MBA immersions on the Seattle campus in September, January, and March 2) attend part of TMMBA orientation in November in the Seattle area.

• MBA or master's degree in a related field is preferred.
• Experience coaching a graduate population in a career, recruitment, or corporate setting.
• Working knowledge of social media and career assessments is strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of MBA career paths and career goals.
• Knowledge of corporate MBA hiring processes and global business trends.
• Technical aptitude with proficiency in Salesforce.
